Chris Davies

5th Degree Black Belt

Chris began training in taekwondo at the age of 12, and quickly fell in love with the art.  He dedicated much of his youth to training, gaining experience of both ITF and WTF (Olympic) styles of taekwondo , and he achieved his 1st Degree Black Belt at the age of 16.

Over the years, Chris became an avid and successful competitor, winning many regional, national and international titles.  Highlights of his competitive career include winning a bronze medal at the 2002 TKDI World Championships; and winning gold and silver medals at the TAGB 20th Anniversary Team Championships in 2003, where he fought as part of the Great Britain squad.

In 2007, Chris opened Halewood Taekwondo Club in Liverpool (now known as North West Spirit Taekwondo).  The club quickly gained popularity, eventually growing into the diverse team of dedicated students that exists today. Chris’s teaching style mixes high standards of performance with discipline, love of the sport and a fun attitude.  He loves to help students improve and reach their potential, pushing them beyond their expectations.  He takes huge satisfaction from seeing his students’ confidence grow, and in helping them persevere to achieve their goals.
