Following today’s GTI Black Belt Grading, we’re extremely proud to present our club’s newest Black Belts!
Olly Gargan, 1st Dan Eloise Williams, 1st Dan Nikola Kliza, 1st Dan Nicole Murphy, 1st Dan Connor Murphy, 3rd Dan.
Each of them has worked incredibly hard in the run up to the grading, putting in lots of work in class and at home, training hard to improve their weaker areas, and digging deep to conquer their fears and self-doubt. It was a tough journey, but you made it! Now the hard work begins again…
Massive congratulations to you all. Very well deserved. You’ve done your club proud!
We’re proud to have had a team representing the club today at the Rotterdam Taekwondo Cup!
This was the first international tournament for many of our fighters, and we’re proud of them all for stepping up and rising to the challenge!
Despite some tough competition, our team will bring home 3 silver and 11 bronze medals.
Well done to each of our competitors, including Kal, for getting onto the mats, gaining valuable experience and representing our little club on the world stage.
Thanks to everyone who made it happen, especially our coaches Connor, Callum and Nicole, who took care of all the organising as well as looking after the fighters. Thank you to Jan Merritt for doing an excellent job of fundraising for the trip. And thanks to everyone who supported the team, either in person or from home!
A fantastic day for the team today at the GTI North West Open in Liverpool!
We had a big team of 30 competitors and they did us proud, as usual! They all gave 100% and came away with 39 medals: 17 gold, 11 silver & 11 bronze!
Well done to Dominik, who sparred really well but just missed out on a medal; and to Ben for a really good effort in patterns at his first ever competition.
A special mention also goes to Francis, who was competing for the first time and fought really well to take bronze in sparring. One to watch!
Thanks to everyone who helped out today with setting up, organising and running the event. Well done to all our competitors and a big thank you to our coaches and our awesome cheering squad. What a team!
A successful day in Stoke! We had a team of 5 students taking part in the PUMA Northern Championships today, and they bagged 12 medals: 6 gold, 3 silver & 3 bronze!
