This event is open to all licenced students (INCLUDING white belts) aged up to 17.
The ‘bears’ category is for 5-7 year olds and they’ll do speed kicking, high kick and sumo sparring rather than ‘real’ sparring (although 7 year olds can choose to do proper sparring).
Then there’s normal sparring, patterns and speed kicking for the 8-17 year olds. The plan is to do continuous sparring for blue stripes and up, point-stop sparring for white to green belts.

The GTI ‘100 Rounds of Sparring’ charity event will be held on Sunday 10th May, 12:30-15:30, at Bridgnorth Endowed Leisure Centre in Shropshire (please note: venue has changed from Hinckley).
All students are welcome to take part in this friendly and fun event. Fancy dress is optional (but encouraged)!
Challenge yourself to complete 100 x 1 minute rounds of sparring; or, if you prefer, sign up to complete 25, 50 or 75 rounds of sparring instead. You can also opt to complete 25, 50, 75 or 100 minutes of patterns if sparring isn’t your thing. It’s all about challenging yourself for a good cause. Get some valuable training done and raise funds at the same time!
This year, we’ll be supporting Mind, the mental health charity. To donate and support our team’s efforts, you can sponsor them in class or online here.
